MEET JENNY ELLIS
I taught middle and high school art for nineteen years before opening Blue Cow. I thrive with students who don't think of themselves as artists — the ones who decided somewhere along the way that they weren't creative and never tested it again. I also love engaging and creating with seasoned artists, who bring so much to the table.
What makes Blue Cow different
-
You learn actual skills and explore materials with purpose — not just follow along with a project.
-
We spend real time on the hardest part of making art: where ideas come from, and how to develop one that's yours.
-
Problem-solving, creative independence, and the nerve to try something you might get wrong.
It's about the experience, not just the finished product.
When students get the freedom to explore materials, follow their own curiosity, and make their own creative choices, something shifts. They start trusting their instincts, and they feel real pride in what they've made. That's what every class here is built around.
“The purpose of art is not to produce a product. The purpose of art is to produce thinking.”
Making art can be fun, challenging, silly, emotional, and completely unexpected — but it can't be any of those things unless you show up and give it a go.
